Red dead redemption is set in America 1911 during the decline of the american wild west. As you play your way through the story of red dead you will encounter many unforgeable characters and be stunned by amazing scenery and eye candy. for those of you who played and enjoyed rock stars series grand theft auto you will enjoy this even more.
Red dead redemption is a sandbox style game and is a simple aim to shoot 3rd person game. It uses the same auto aim system as in grand theft auto and it works well. While you play the game all of your actions will effect NPCs. for instance a shopkeeper may run to you asking you to catch a person which has just robed his shop. if you choose to catch him and kill him then return the money you will gain honor which will change the way NPCs react to you (they would be more friendly). but if you kill him and leave with the money your honor will go down. The story mode consists of 57 levels which are a mix of wild shootouts and simple tasks such as retrieving and object from a mineshaft, although most of them are wild shootouts =p.

There are 50 levels to gain on online multilayer and for each level you gain you will obtain new weaponry and mounts to spawn with. I would recommend that you play through the champaign first before you switch to online mode as it may be frustrating for new players. A free coopretive online game mode which was aded to the game after it official release, were you play through mission with up to 4 players is a good place to start if your new. there are also DLC,s were you need to pay such as undead nightmare were zombies are added to your world and a whole to campaign is available to play through.
